Master and Commander

Master and Commander

Syed Jamal Shah

Life is not like a restaurant where you get good stuff first then you pay the price.

Neither for military generals, politicians, businessmen or CEO’s. Common people speculate that they are meant to lose, employees and workers are receiving a tough break and making castles in the air with ill hopes. Big offices and stretch car-parking have nothing to do with walk of life, good job and luxurious lifestyle are becoming mainstream mantra by working 9to5 or not. It is not flight of fancy, it resides on the side of the successful people, feature of A players and game changers steer their boats through it. They are committed to exploit these beliefs in hilarious ways, as strategy for wining and tool for growth; it’s a feather in the cap of renowned athletes’ and they routinely practice secrete principles as weapon against challengers to uplift the strength versus protection, and active intellectual personalities uses it as safeguards for their goals, it is a philosophy Plus neo-beliefs of doing good, delivering best and exploring new roads of occasions, State mind to become BIW (Best in World) and FMOB (first, most only best). You might be thinking what it is? Let me disclose “LEADERSHIP”. Leadership is not only a dweller of big palaces or high political offices; it is available for everyone who is willing to embrace.

Martin Luther King Jr Once said that “If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as a Michelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, 'Here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.”

According to ex-president of united states, John Quincy Adams definition of leadership is “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader”, this quotes states leader ought to be one who have an impressive personality with high character in true sense. Who can inspire and convince followers, and through leader actions, followers will feel hope encouragement. For leader’s personality is power dress, wears such clothes which can leave the impression of activeness, effectiveness and strength of energy to look awesome, similarly loving leaders pays double price for it, they dress social and keep the capability of sacrifice’s in work or potential of devotion. Personality also includes communication, your vison must be communicable and clear because clarity is power, and thus they create bond of people or employees who work together for reaching. On other hand, John C Maxwell describes leadership as Influence to obtain followers, he states that anyone who want to become leader in his profession must have long-lasting influence of understanding the psychology of people with whom he is working, to have the upper hand, leaders always seek knowledge about the subject on which they are working and desires to learning never ends.

According to Robin Sharma distinguished motivational speaker and inspiration consultant in his book, The Leader Who Had No Title, writes that “Legends are people who are strongly certain that Leadership and Success is their birth right, each of us is born genius but sadly most of us die amid mediocrity”. We all have natural powers to lead the plan of our goals, without plan you can’t reach to the peak of success, plan resembles map for travel to make progress in this busy world of today. Successful people have had set goals, they study their goals and invest time to sought accurate direction towards final destination; time is the safest investment to embrace success in the aim.  He further marks that “How can you cross new bridges if you’re not willing to burn old ones?”.

Somewhere in library, I went through by these words “Champions Trains & Losers complains”. While doing study on leadership, I found a person Yakoob, quite inspirational and growing, by asking he shared that “Every single human being have the potential to do best, if they start believing their selves”. He told me that “Every day, human beings set goals and do solemn faith with their self-souls that onwards they are going to follow their dreams but unfortunately they all become prey of failures, stress, anxiety and turn into losers.” he added more that “Anyone who can lead his life beautifully then he/she will be able to lead people around their selves”.

Theodore Roosevelt Jr 26th American president and writer, quotes that “The people ask the difference between a leader and a boss. The leader leads, and the Boss drives”.

Long ago, while hiking to the valley of nomads on the quest for leadership, I met Baba Zamrood (Emerald green), he was in his late 50s, turban veil face, wooden stick in right hand, sitting beside spring water at green meadows on highest point above sea level and sheep’s were grazing nearby. Baba holds great domestic wisdom. He shared a secret of leadership with us, which they are practicing from the ages of fore-fathers to ignite the fire of leadership in pre-successors of tribe. In winter season, the local shepherd’s sends, young lads on mission towards snow covered higher peaks with flocks, the secretes of journey tells the struggle of hiking, protection of flocks from hungry hunters like wolves and leopard’s, finding of food and water on way. I ask for what purpose they put them in jeopardize situation and what are the secrete mottos behind it. Baba Zamrood demonstrated that these young lad understands the purpose of job, decision making in tough situations, strategic planning’s to protect herds from hunters, and basic one survival in the wilderness.

In the first place, Zamrood turn over a new leaf, spoke  that our strategy of teaching leadership to young shepherd’s by sending them on wild ventures in the hope that ultimately furnishes, the DNA of young nomads in numerous ways like First, the harsh weather of high peaks implants passion of persistence with extraordinary efforts to understand the purpose of job; Next, blowing fast wind encourage them for desire to lead, willingness to take responsibilities and learning the art of survival in the wilderness of nature; Third, flock of lambs tells integrity, trustworthiness and consistency between him and his followers, and ultimately the bond between herdsman and lambs creates self-confidence and in the same fashion, the said bond also expose the self-confidence of followers; Fourth, this supposed bond breeds elimination of doubts and persuades followers to stuck with mission; Fifth, Before step-in the journey, the young nomads collect information from tribe leaders about expedition, equally, such information collection improves their intelligence about the job (wild journey), and intelligence collection interprets critical situation into right decision makings, job relevant knowledge enhances them to understand technicalities of journey and the last is Relentless learning is one of the main trait of Leadership.

Correspondingly, Baba zamrood told me that your business world is changing at very fast momentum, with this intention corporate world is all about competing opponents under the sun and cannot witness your success, in such period of time you have to watch them like a hawk. To lead organization into the domain of high-avenues with flying colors, you need to adopt up-and-coming IMAGE in your professional beliefs, as I for innovation by bringing innovation in work, M for mastery, A for authenticity, G for guts, taking risks with unshakeable faith turns your moves stronger and create scent of worry on challengers, E is ethics, as mark by Gandhi “In gentle way, you can shake the world”.

In his book the leader who had no title by robin Sharma, in this book the top ten amazing things leaders do; First, the job of leaders is to create more leaders, to lead is to create leadership characters in follower, hence these characters empower follower to a stage where the essence and efforts of leader will not be required, in return it will ease the load of work on leader. Secondly, nothing happens until you move, Chinese Lao Tzu quote that “Journey of thousands miles begins with one step”, Robin preaches that Ultra-successful persons act on their vison and goal, they have had developed a mechanism on thinking, to do small things in big ways and through self-motivation to streamline the energy to receive professional potential. Third, Your Behavior reveals your beliefs, behavior is the outcome of attitude, because attitude is the set of beliefs, behaving masterfully shows your strength and focus. Fourth, Ideas are worthless without execution, less meeting and more delivery. Fifth, when you learn more you get to achieve more, as Warren Buffet said “The more you learn, the more you earn”, therefore the return on investment in leaning is much fruitful than anything else. Seven, Respect is not granted but earned, you have to earn it. Eight, Don’t confuse movement with progress, spend your absolute best hours on working, allot specific time for family, exercise and socializing in your schedule. Nine, Victims don’t do giant things, victims speak toxic while leaders drive results. Last, Life is short be use of it.

Baba Zamrood concluded that leadership is to create, contribute and to win in modern world of today. In the end, another sage Yakoob a principle consultant said that “When you are design for big, why choose to play small, why we resign ourselves to mediocrity in the long run; Leadership is behavior, live it; Realized potential turns into success.”, and Yakoob reminded me of the Oscar Wild Be yourself; everyone else is already taken”.

Beauty: Dynamic & Fluid Concept

Beauty is a product of Human creation & Interpretation The sun was setting, casting a golden glow over the small garden where the old man and his young student sat. The air was filled with the scent of blooming jasmine, and the gentle rustle of leaves seemed to whisper secrets of the world. The old man, with his silver beard and eyes that held wrinkles of decades wisdom, leaned back on a wooden bench. His student, a curious young lad with a notebook in his lap, looked at him expectantly. “Master,” he began, his voice soft but eager, “you always say that beauty is everywhere. But what is beauty? Is it the flowers, the sunset, or something more?” The old master smiled, his gaze lingering on a butterfly that had just landed on a nearby flower. “Ah, my dear,” he said, his voice like a gentle breeze, “ Beauty is not just what you see. It is what you feel. Tell me, when you look at this butterfly, what comes to your mind?”. The young lad tilted his head, studying the delicate cre...

Un Expected Connection

Exploring Mysticism with Stockholm Bliss   It all started when I received a direct message from a stranger girl by profile name “Stockholm Bliss”, on Instagram. She introduced herself as freelancer (content-Writer) and asked me if I could help her understand Islamic mysticism. As someone who is well-versed in Islamic spirituality, I was charmed by her question and decided to participate in a conversation with her. Our conversation started with some basic concepts of Islamic mysticism, forty rules of love, Me & Rumi, Divine love etc. soon it turned into a deep and meaningful discussion. I was impressed by her eagerness to learn and her insightful questions. We talked about various topics, from the nature of God to the purpose of life, and our chat went on for hours. As we continued to chat, we found that we had a lot in common. We also shared similar interests in art, music, and literature. It was as if we had known each other for years. It's great to have diverse int...
